‘TRANSITION’

A NIGHT OF MAGICAL MUSIC, EXPLORING THEMES OF TRANSITION, DAWN & DUSK

With Julie Hesmondhalgh, reading stories and poems to do with Salford.

Featuring 2 world premiers, including a piece specially commissioned for the #NQLWeekend written by Daniel Mawson “From Trinity To The Crescent’ – this performance will include narration by Not Quite Light artist Simon Buckley, alongside an audio visual work.

 The concert will include music by Beethoven, Britten and Macmillan alongside modern works.

Performances by The Transition Orchestra, and a world premier of a work by Sophie Sully.

Manchester Improvisers featuring Vonnegut Collective’s Gary Farr, Trio Atem’s Nina Whiteman, and more…

Manchester Renaissance Ensemble, conducted by Rory Wainright Johnston

And there will be a special performance of Mirk Across The Irk with Mike McGoldrick, melding music from the Irish and Jewish traditions.

Julie Hesmondhalgh will be doing readings throughout the evening too.
