GUIDED WALK ‘TIMEKEEPER’S SQUARE’

Timekeeper’s Square is an award winning development, lying between the Georgian church of St.Philips and Salford Cathedral. Nearby is a street of Georgian houses, indicating the historic nature of this part of the city. The new houses had to be built with sensitivity, respecting the surroundings.

Join Ian Beaumont, a director of Buttress architects who designed the square, on a guided walk of the area, and learn about how an architectural practice sets about a project which successfully houses people, as well as remaining sympathetic to the local heritage.

Joining him will be sound artist Jacky Waldock, who has been specially commissioned for the Not Quite Light Weekend to produce a piece of work that archives the sounds of the area, including interviews with residents. The sound project will be archived and accessed via QR codes set out in the square.
