TAKE BETTER PHOTOGRAPHS

This course will take you on a journey to help you take the pictures that you want to take…

Join me in the Not Quite Light Studio 6 weekly lessons, starting on Monday September 16th 2024, and learn how to see pictures, and then use your camera to capture your vision.

NQL HQ, GF 008, The Courtyard, Islington Mill, James St, M3 5HW

Over 6 weeks, you will be taught how to see better pictures, and the techniques you will need to use your camera to realise your vision.

Each evening session will last 3 hours, giving ample time to explore the many aspects involved in succesfully taking photographs.

The key to taking successful photographs is to understand how we see the world, and what we want to say about it.

Suitbale for beginners…

WEEK ONE – we will look at the work of several photographers, and discuss ways of seeing the world around us.

WEEK TWO –  we will discuss the craft of photography, learning about exposure, the mechanics of the equipment and compostition, establishing principles that can be used on a smartphone, a DSLR or film cameras.

WEEKS THREE, FOUR AND FIVE – These weeks will be spent making work, discussing the outcomes, learning basic digital photo editing skills and how to choose your best picture for printing and sharing.

WEEK 6 – It’s time to share with the world. This last session will be used to show your finished pictures. In week five you will have chosen one image to be digitally printed, and then we’ll display the finished work as a mini-exhibition and invite family and friends down for a lovely social event to end the course.

For this course you will need a DSLR or SLR and a laptop with photo editing software.
