This month I take a dawn walk to Piccadilly Station… A slightly new format this time on the Not Quite Light radio show, as I put on my headphones and wander up to Piccadilly at daybreak, listening to music and the sounds I encounter along the way, including an unexpected encounter with a Nigerian radio presenter inspecting tickets at the end of platform 1… Tracks include Sarah Neufeld, Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Franz Shubert. In this month’s show I reveal stories of ancestors, loss and identity… In late September I travelled to Hull with artist Gareth Smith ( aka Vanishing ) and interviewed him at dawn on the banks of the Humber, among the old docks.
