PAINTING WITH LIGHT NOVEMBER 24TH

PAINTING WITH LIGHT

MONDAY 24th November 7PM-10.30PM

Put simply, painting with light is fun! It’s a simple way of bringing extra drama and colour to night photography, by using portable, articificial light to create beautiful and amazing atmosphere in a picture. I’ve often used it in my Not Quite Light work, particularly when working in woodland and forests.

In this workshop I will explain the technique behind painting with light, and then we’ll head out to make some photographs! At the end of the sssion we’ll return to the studio and I’ll run through some basic processing tips to get the best out the images you’ve just made. It will feel like you’re creating a world of magic!

The workshop is for 4 places only, so that I can work easily with each individual, and we’ll be able work together to make the pictures.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

I will supply the light wands!

A DSLR

A cable to use your camera on long exposure ( I can advise on this beforehand ).

If possible, a tripod and laptop.

I will supply the light wands!

Wear dark clothing on the night, it helps you ‘disappear’ within the photograph.

A photograph of the remains of the Ancoats Roundhouse, taken at night. A circle of bricks surrounds a small copse of beech trees. The trees are softly lit with artifical light.
