CREATIVE WEEKEND – TAKE BETTER PHOTOGRAPHS
8 PLACES MAX £65pp ( +£1 booing fee )
LOVE TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS, AND WANT TO BE EVEN BETTER?
This Creative Weekend workshop will take you on a journey to help you take the pictures that you want to take…
Join me in the Not Quite Light Studio and learn how better to see pictures, and then use your camera to capture your vision.
Have you ever wondered why the picture doesn’t quite match what you
saw with your own eyes? Did you ever wonder what tips and tricks
photographers use to get perfect compositons and well exposed
photographs?
The key to taking successful photographs is to understand how we see the world, and what we want to say about it. This workshop is not just about the techniques of how you use the camera, it’s about understanding what you are seeing in the world around you, building confidence in your creative self, giving you strong foundations to always be in control of the pctures you want to capture.
Over the two days you will be taught an introduction to how to see better pictures, and the techniques you will need to use your camera to realise your vision.
Suitbale for beginners, and those of you that would simply like to improve the photographs you already take…
SATURDAY
Learning about composition, and how light affects a picture is essential and so we’ll begin in the morning with the basics, by exploring how the masters of painting and photography use of light and composition. Learn from the best! This will give you an understanding of what makes a successful painting or photograph, and provide valuable insights you can use in your own work. Learn from the best!
Before lunch we’ll then move on to understanding your camera, exploring how to make a successful exposure, and understanding the creative aspects of aperture, shutter speeds and ISO.
After lunch we’ll go out on a photowalk and make use of things we’ve learned in the morning, learing to observe the world around us, and connecting what the eye and heart see with how the camera then records your vision.
SUNDAY
We’ll begin the day by reviewing the pictures taken the previous day, discussing what works and what could be evolved. In the afternoon we’ll run through basic photoprocessing techniques using free photo editing software that can be downloaded to a laptop.
For this course you will need a DSLR, SLR ( film ) or smartphone, and a laptop ( an iPd maybe enough ) that can be used for photo editing software.
You will receive a PDF with information and course notes.
Tea and coffee are provided. Any questions email – notquitelight at gmail dot com
