I currently have two photographs on show in Hope Mill, Manchester, as part of a group show for Comme Ca PR.
The two photographs are – ‘I THOUGHT I’D SEEN A UNICORN’ & ‘SHOULD I FOLLOW A BEGUILING PATH?’
In October I spent two weeks on Dartmoor, collecting photographs and recording for a podcast. Whilst I was there Hurricane Ophelia swept in, bringing a coating of Saharan dust that turned the sky pink, and Storm Brian changed the atmosphere so that the birds stayed silent. I found it a magical place, in that the moor played tricks on my mind. It felt like rural Truman Show, with no discernible edge as I looked into the distance.
It reminded me of the importance of leaving the familiar, so that we may return home changed, and ready to see our world afresh. This will be particularly useful as I once again begin collecting photographs for ‘From Trinity To The Crescent’, my current NQL project.
A podcast, text and further images will be published on this site and my site simonbuckleyphotographer.com in the near future. The work is for sale as limited edition of 10 prints.
Each Giclee print is numbered and signed, using archival fine art paper.
Alongside my photographs there are paintings, sculpture and ceramics by other Manchester artists such as Sophie Nixon, who runs the Sale Arts Trail events.
