On Saturday 16th of March, Not Quite Light Festival presents

a free-to-attend concert with a lineup featuring some of Swinton’s finest resident musicians.

Locally based musician Biff Roxby, who plays in the band Honeyfeet, has curated a wonderful night of music provided by brilliant musicians who live in or around Swinton. Bar provided by Swinton’s very own House of Hops!

GIDEON CONN

A stalwart of the Greater Manchester music scene for over 18 years, Gideon Conn is known for effortlessly blending acoustic folk and hip hop. He has a unique performance style which makes audiences very happy. As well as his own fantastic headline shows, over the years Gideon has toured with Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and Jason Mraz as well as appearances at Glastonbury, Bestival, Latitude and several other festivals. 

In addition to his career as a musician, Gideon is well known for his artwork and sculpture. To date, Gideon has released four albums and continues to perform around the UK.

JEN WALINETSKI (J2OH) AND PETE TURNER (HENGE)

Both drawing from a love of jazz and electronic music, Jen Walinetski and Pete Turner collaborate in a one-off special appearance for the Not Quite Light Festival.

Jen Walinetski is a drummer and percussionist who has toured worldwide and recorded for the likes of The Halle orchestra, Little Mix and the BBC Philharmonic. 

Jen’s most recent original work is with her band ‘j2oh’ who are just about to release their debut album.

Pete Turner is a double bassist and electronics wizard with over twenty years experience playing with artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamil Sheriff and John Ellis.

Pete’s recent original work is with his band ‘Henge‘ who have become well known for their energetic live shows and have just released their third studio album.

Their performance will be accompanied by the projection of a collection of archive footage and photographs of Swinton over the years.
