THESE WILL VANISH

THESE WILL VANISH

SATURDAY 16th – 17th MARCH

SWINTON SQUARE M27 4BD

FREE 12pm, 1pm 2pm Saturday and Sunday.

Artists Lowri Evans and Biff Roxby present ‘These Will Vanish’, a title taken from a local Swinton newspaper headline from 1969. Inspired by revisiting the 1973 Swinton and Pendlebury Arts Festival, using archive recordings and interviews with people that were there, this will be a beautifully evocative event, connecting Swinton’s past with its present.

The performance will comprise of 5 scenes and has a simple structure, with a small cast and musicians. This is the story…

“It is the opening day of the festival, so the precinct is awash with VIP’s and a visit from the mayor. The only problem is none of the bands are where they should be; and the festival director only has two incompetent volunteer festival guides to help him.”

The festival guides stay with the audience the whole time, splitting them in two, moving them to different locations and back again. It will be fun and family friendly.

Free, performances at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm Saturday and Sunday in Swinton Square shopping precinct. The performance will be about 35 minutes.
